Question Posted 6 November
Not a question but a statement. Your classes have been extremely well
taught, your attitude to students is great and your knowledge is evident.
Thank you for your effort - dare I say it ... that I have enjoyed the
unit ... and this is before I know my results. Thank you Barbara.
Answer Thank you very much for the positive feedback. I'm glad
that you enjoyed the classes. Best of luck on the exam.

Are the solutions and the anonymous results of the first mid-semester
exam both at St Lucia and Ipswich
going to be complementarily posted on each website? (Assuming we both
had the same paper of course.)
Answer The mid-semester exams at St Lucia and Ipswich are
different. I will post the solutions and anonymous results of the first
Ipswich mid-semester test on the
Ipswich website at the end of this week.

I may have misheard you during the lecture but you said that the bonus
question for assignment 2 is addressed in Section 3.10 of the textbook.
There is no section 3.10 so I am unclear what you were referring to.
Answer You are correct that there is no Section 3.10 in the textbook.
At the end of Chapter 3, we have added a few extra sections in the
workbook.
Section 3.8 on the Euclidean Algorithm, Section 3.9 on
Linear Diophantine Equations, and Section 3.10 on the General Solution
to a Linear Diophantine Equation are found in the Reading Section of the
Workbook (near the end). So the last part of Assignment 2 is based on
the material in the Reading Section of the workbook (not on anything in
the textbook).
Question Posted 15 August
Just with lecture would it be possible to go through the examples a
little slower as this is all new and I am just floating about it all at the
moment.
Answer Thanks for your input. I will try to go through the
examples more slowly. It is sometimes hard to judge how well people are
following, so please feel free to call out to me in class, asking me to
slow down. I love it when people ask questions while I'm working through
things at the board, so don't be shy.
