Purpose
To bring together researchers from Australia and elsewhere in the
Asia-Pacific region to develop and begin collaborative
projects. This workshop is NOT intended to be a
conference. Instead the participants will have desk space
and access to facilities that will resemble an everyday working
environment. There will be ample free time in which to do
research, as well as social activities that will give you the
opportunity to speak with other participants informally. The
workshop is intended to be a local, miniature version of the Kavli Institute for Theoretical
Physics programmes.
You should bring your own computer, and make sure you set up
access to the eduroam
wireless network before you leave your institution. We have
good wireless access across our office space. If you do not have
eduroam access, please let us know BEFOREHAND and we can arrange guest access to the
UQ network.
There will be no registration fee for the workshop. We plan
to provide lunch, and morning teas for the workshop. There
will also be a reception each Sunday, and a workshop dinner in
each week. For now we
suggest that participants should expect to provide for their own
flights, accommodation, meals, and other expenses.
However, once numbers are confirmed there may be some funding
available.

Accommodation
Single rooms are available in Women's College on the
UQ campus, a short walk from the Physics Annexe. Each room
shares a bathroom block with 15 others, there are 3 toilets and 3
showers in each blcok. For bed and cooked breakfast the rate
is a very affordable $71 per night. There will be a limited
number of en-suite rooms available at a cost of $81/night - first in, first served.
We recommend on-campus accommodation - there are plenty of
facilities nearby, and it is only a 10 minute bus trip to
Southbank and the Brisbane CBD.
Once you have registered, we will send you a booking form for
your room at Women's College.
Otherwise, you might consider apartment accommodation in nearby
suburbs - Toowong typically offers best value. Some
