The cover shows the path of Venus (the purple line) relative to the Earth (the blue dot) over the next eight years. The path starts on March 1st, 2012 and the black dot shows the position of Venus on June 6th, 2012, the date of the last transit of Venus this century (see article on page 18). The orange dot is the location of the sun on that same date.
