• As always, there are three lectures this week

• Tutorials WILL be held this week, and assignment 3 is due in by friday afternoon

• the additional contact hour WILL be held this week. During that time, we'll do some extra examples of material covered in lectures, including some of the unsolved examples from lecture notes
• This week, we'll work through all of Sections 2 and 3 of the notes, and make a short start on Section 4 (covering introductory material on functions).
• tute on Tuesday 12-1 (previously in rooms 69-207 and 5-213) has moved to 67-208 (large room on ground floor of maths building).

• tute on Wednesday 11-12 (previously room 9-816) has moved to 7-G77 (one of the large lecture theatres in Physics building).

• tute on Wednesday 1-2 (previously room 1-E210) has moved to 67-623 (level 6 of the mathematics building).

• if you want to attend at Ipswich: {\bf all classes} on Wednesday and Friday will be held in building 6202 room 1.05, at Ipswich.

• useful reading: the first sections of chapter 5 is useful.

Copies of various handouts are available here. Because they include lots of mathematics, they are in a postscript (.ps) format. To be able to display them or print them, you will need a program which can understand postscript. See the bottom of this document for one, for PCs running Windows 95/98.
