- First of all, have something to say.
- Then write it in the simplest, clearest and most lucid manner that
you can. A classic, that is very worth reading, is by Paul Halmos
[2].
- If you are worried about your writing/spelling/grammar, first use
grammar and spell checks and then ask someone else to read it before
submitting.
- If there was some difficulty with a proof, perhaps get someone
else to carefully check it and see that your explanation is clear and
that there are no gaps in reasoning.
- Explain your ideas in an insightful manner that will set any
reader thinking as to how they can use your work in their own. Appeal
to the intuition and heuristic reasoning of your intended audience.
- Try and link the new material with existing concepts, either as
insightful cross-links, applications in other areas or applicability
to practical problems.
Finally, let us all - authors, readers, referees and editors - set
about further improving the quality and international profile of Fuzzy Sets and Systems.
