My research interests lie in the fields of Optical Physics and are focused on Quantum Information. In the past, I have worked on the development of piezoelectric materials, the optimisation and development of high-power laser systems as well as with optical quantum logic gates and with ion traps.


My current focus is on building an interconnect between optical and atomic qubits to allow the rapid transmission and the storage of quantum information.


I am also involved in work adapting highly efficient superconducting transition edge sensors to our operating conditions and exploit their high sensitivity and number resolution ability.
