Magic Square

Link: Simulation

This applet allows the analysis and solution of magic squares.

The rules of a magic square are as follows:

Under these rules, the squares must be filled with numbers to complete the square. Initially, the square is defined by inserting the starting numbers. Alternatively a random set of numbers can be selected. The square can then be solved manually or automatically.

To insert a number, click on the square where it is to be inserted and then type the number key (for numbers above 9 use a=10, b=11, etc). If valid, the number will be inserted.

The solve button will solve the square while single steps can be performed using the step button. To change the speed of solving press the + and - keys.
