Welcome to the second edition of A Portable Introduction to Data Analysis.

A revised second edition was released in December 2003, including a super-portable A6 edition, but is no longer available from the bookshop. This edition is now being used in conjunction with the workbook for external students.

A revised edition in July 2003 contained minor corrections from the original second edition (with the same picture on the cover). The December 2003 edition contains only very minor corrections, as listed in the errata below.

Unfortunately, this second edition is no longer available.

You can copy the data sets directly for use in OStats.

Supplements

Two supplementary sections were handed out during Semester 1, 2004:

• 61 Notation
  A summary of the various symbols used in the book
• Logarithms
  A brief introduction to logarithms and their properties and uses
